“…and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.”~2 Corinthians 10:5 (NET Bible)

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…” ~Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV)

God’s Word reminds us that we are absolutely defined by what we think!  What does it mean to make our thoughts obey Christ?  It means to fill our thoughts so full of what is true and Christ-like that we have no room in our thinking for anything else.  “Negative thoughts” are usually synonymous with “LIES”! We can, by the power of the Holy Spirit, learn to fill our minds with TRUTH, which will always be consistent with what the Bible says. Great freedom comes as we purpose to fill our minds with what is true, noble, right, pure, excellent and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).  True thoughts planted in our minds are like the bright, beautiful flowers that spring forth this time of year.  They bring HOPE, they bring BEAUTY, they bring LIFE!

It can really help to have someone come alongside us and help us examine the degree to which we are filling our hearts and minds with what is TRUE.  Feel free to email Wendy Wilkins if you would like to explore this idea more. wendy.thegreatexchange@gmail.com

Monthly Prayer Focus:  Pray that our church family would fill our minds with things that are true, noble, right, pure, excellent and praiseworthy.  Pray that as we do so, there would be no room in our minds for negative thoughts or things that are untrue about us, our value, our purpose, and our God.  Pray that as we align our minds with Truth, we would truly become all that God designed us to be.
