PASTOR SCOTTY CLARK’S BIO.

I was born in San Bernardino, California in 1971. I will let you do the math. My parents, which I love very much, live in California. Basically I lived in two places growing up. After I was born we moved to Northern California to a town called Yountville in the Napa Valley. Then in fourth grade we moved back to Southern California to a town called Grand Terrace. I really enjoyed soccer, racing BMX (Bicycle Moto Cross) and ridding my three-wheeler. I lived there until I was about 24 and moved to Colorado. But wait, I don’t want to get ahead of myself.
Before the move to CO., I met my amazing wife Toby. I had just
gotten back from a weeklong three-wheeler trip in the Glamis Sand Dunes with my friends. I was relaxing on my couch in my apartment when the doorbell rang. In came some friends of mine and there was Toby. OHHH MYYY, she is beautiful and the more I got to know her I realized how beautiful she is on the inside. She had a boyfriend so this prevented us from dating but over the course of a couple years she truly became my best friend.
We were married in 1994. In 1995 we had our son Brandon, a
nd in 1998 we had our daughter Logan
. Both of our children are so amazing I cannot even put into words how much I love them and what they mean to Toby and I.  Our son married Joslynn Roth of Spencer NE, now Joslynn Clark as of July 2015. Joslynn is a blessing to us all. She is a devoted follower of Jesus and loves Brandon. They live in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Our daughter married Jayden Philben of Ainsworth on September 30th 2017. Like my Daughter-in-law, and both Logan & Brandon, Jayden to is a follower of Jesus! What a huge blessing!

I have had many jobs over the years. I worked at J&R bicycle in Grand Terrace, CA. I was the Manager of Riverside Schwinn in Riverside CA. I worked at Schwinn Sales West in Rancho Cucamonga, CA as an Inside Sales Representative. Schwinn decided to consolidate all their offices to one location in Boulder CO. which is what prompted the move to Colorado and where Toby and I had both of our children. I worked for Schwinn for a little over 10 years. I was on staff at Northern Hills Christian Church in Brighton, CO. I worked at Dare 2 Share ministries and to supplement the income during that time, I also worked nights at Fed Ex Ground as a Package Handler. I worked at Coca-Cola in Long Pine NE. And now, I’m truly blessed to be the full time Associate Pastor of Community and Outreach at Ainsworth Evangelical Free Church in Ainsworth NE. In March of 2014 I became a licensed minister through the Evangelical Free Church of America and hope to be ordained in 2019.

All of this is fun to look back on, but the single most important thing in my life is Jesus Christ. I had always considered myself a Christian and after having the kids, Toby and I decided to make church a priority
for our family. But it wasn’t until I went on a short-term mission trip to Nicaragua that I realized that I had my priorities all out of whack.  I was perusing worldly things like money and status, and even though I called myself a Christian, Jesus was not really a priority in my life. It was in the Jungle, while on a walk with two orphanage children that did not even speak English, that I turned away from coveting and put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

It has not been easy over the years but I know I am doing what God has called me to do in this season of my life. My purpose in life is, To Know God and To Make Him Known. This is a summary of the two Greatest commandments as explained by Jesus in Mark 12:30-31. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

If you would like to get together one on one and grow in our understanding of the Bible and in Prayer then please contact me and you and I can arrange a time. I really would like to connect with you.

God Bless,

Scotty
